HISTORY:-
The BEZY class container wagons entered service throughout 2000. These wagons are the longest freight wagons in service on the QR system. These wagons are designed to carry three 20’ ISO containers or one 40’ and one 20’ container. Wagons of this type have been fitted with conventional type bogies. These modern wagons are fitted with a twin hose brake system, meaning that instead of the single brake line extending from the left hand side of the coupling they are fitted with one on each side.
The BEZY container wagons measure 18.3 metres over headstocks and have a tare weight of only 17.2t which gives them a carrying capacity of between 45.8t and 62.8t depending on the classification of the line.
